RENO, Nev. — A Reno police sergeant is recovering after a motorcycle crash that occurred while he was off duty.

Lt. Scott Shaw said in a statement that the incident occurred on Thursday afternoon in the Midtown area, south of Reno’s downtown.

The Reno Gazette-Journal reports the police sergeant was taken a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

The Washoe County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the crash as part of its regional protocol.
