GILBERT, Ariz. — Six charter school teachers in Gilbert have been fired after an on-campus incident last month.

Phoenix TYV station KTVK reports that Imagine West Gilbert sent out letters to parents during the Christmas break informing them of the decision.

School officials say they became aware of a Dec. 21 incident involving six of their staff members that took place on school property during school hours.

Due to employment confidentiality laws, the school cannot disclose the specifics of the incident but say it was serious in nature.

Investigators found all six teachers violated the employment handbook policies.

Imagine West Gilbert officials say they’ve already made several hires of highly qualified teachers for the coming semester.
