NEWARK, N.J. — It appears many people are staying home as a wind-whipped winter storm blasts snow across New Jersey.

NJ Transit spokeswoman Nancy Snyder says ridership on its trains and buses is lighter than usual Thursday.

Bus service to and from the Port Authority Bus Terminal in New York City is subject to delays of up to 30 minutes.

NJ Transit trains and buses are cross-honoring tickets.
