Gregory “Doug” Poe, 62, of Greenwood passed away Wednesday, January 3, 2018.
He was born to Walter and Patricia Poe in 1955. Doug graduated from Whiteland High School in 1974. He went on to play football at Murray State in Kentucky for one year, and then graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Architecture and Design in 1979 from Purdue University. Doug loved to spend time visiting with friends and family. He enjoyed a good game of golf, and loved to go fishing. In his down time, Doug loved to do woodworking and Native American themed crafts. He enjoyed learning more about his Native heritage, being a descendant of the Cherokee tribe.
Doug is survived by his daughter, Kelly (Clayton) Poe-Thompson; father, Walter Poe; and a granddaughter. He was preceded in death by his mother, Patricia; and his brother Christopher Poe.
