OOLTEWAH, Tenn. — Authorities say a child has died and three other people were injured in a house fire in Tennessee.

The Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office said in a release Wednesday that a juvenile’s body had been found in the remnants of a home in Ooltewah. Another child and two adults were taken to the hospital.

Hamilton County Emergency Service spokeswoman Amy Maxwell told media that a neighbor reported the blaze shortly before 6 a.m. She said the neighbor heard a woman screaming and tried to get everyone out of the house, but was unsuccessful.

Maxwell said firefighters arrived to find a fully involved blaze. They managed to get three people out of the home, but the body of the fourth wasn’t found until the flames were extinguished.

The cause of the fire under investigation.
