REDWOOD CITY, Calif. — The start of a Northern California trial involving a Chinese real estate scion charged with orchestrating the murder of her children’s father has been postponed for a third time.

The San Mateo County district attorney’s office said Wednesday that a judge set a new trial date of March 9 for 33-year-old Tiffany Li and the two men charged with killing Keith Green in 2016.

Li’s wealthy family helped her post a $35 million bail in April and she remains free pending trial. Her family earned millions operating Chinese construction projects, Li’s attorney Geoff Carr has said. He didn’t immediately return a call Wednesday.

Prosecutors say she feared losing custody of her children and directed her boyfriend to kill 27-year-old Green.

The two men remained jailed on $35 million bail each.
