Martha Kolema Waymon, 76, passed away on Friday, December 29, 2017 at Greenwood Health Care in Greenwood, IN. She was a resident of Greenwood, IN.
She was born on July 25, 1941 in Albany, KY. She married Gordon Irvin Waymon on May 28, 1960. He preceded her in passing on September 21, 2010. She was a devoted mother to her children, Phyllis Vonderhaar (Tom) of Ft. Myers, FL, Mike Waymon of Greenwood, IN, Kenny Waymon (Renee) of Indianapolis, IN; grandchildren, Michael Waymon (Erika) of Greenwood, IN, Travis Waymon of Indianapolis, IN; great-grandchildren, Noah Waymon, and Athena Waymon. She was preceded in passing by her siblings, Edsol Dicken, Letha Nixon, Dolan Dicken, Virginia Lou Hardin, Darlene Lynn, and twin sister Mary Milby.
Martha retired as a Nurse’s Aide at Regency Place of Greenwood (Greenwood Health Care) for 17 years. She and husband Gordon owned/operated the Broadway Hotel and Gordon’s Baseball Card Shop in Greenwood for several years.
She was a member of Trinity Baptist Church in Southport. She was a devoted wife to Gordon for 50 years and loved her family and friends of GHC; Martha enjoyed playing bingo, going to flea markets, completing word search puzzles, watching sports on TV, and listening to country music.
Bill Gott and Jim Duvall will conduct a service on Wednesday, January 3, 2018 at 11:00 am at Flinn & Maguire F.H., 2898 N. Morton St., Franklin, IN 46131. Friends may call on Tuesday, January 2, 2018 from 4-7 pm, also at the funeral home. Burial will be at Forest Lawn Memory Gardens in Greenwood, IN.
