NEW YORK — New York City police say a shooting that was sparked by a fight at a party in the Bronx has left one teenager dead and another injured.

Police say the shooting happened around 12:30 a.m. Thursday in the borough’s Van Nest section. Investigators say a 16-year-old boy and a 17-year-old boy were shot as they left a party at Maestros Caterers.

Police say 16-year-old Sincear Williams suffered a gunshot wound to the neck and later died at Jacobi Hospital. He lived in the Bronx.

Authorities say the 17-year-old boy was shot in the arm and is in stable condition at the same hospital. His name hasn’t been released.

No arrests have been made.

An investigation continues.
