Patsy ‘Sue’ Carlile

Patsy Sue (Camden) Carlile, age 72, passed away Sunday evening, December 24, 2017, at Community Hospital South in Indianapolis. She was a resident of Brown County.

Sue was born October 9, 1945, in Indianapolis, to her parents, the late Charles E. and Garnett M. (Kennedy) Camden. She married Michael H. Carlile on August 31, 1963, in Fruitdale. He preceded her in death on March 14, 2009, after 45 devoted years of marriage.

Sue was a loving wife, mother and homemaker. She enjoyed tending to her vegetable and flower gardens, camping at West Boggs Lake and caring for her animals, especially her dog “Charlie.” Sue was a fan of “Star Trek,” “Doctor Who” and the Indianapolis Colts. She loved spending time with her family and will be remembered for her peanut butter fudge, lemon meringue pies and homemade dumplings.

Sue is survived by her children, Rhonda (Mark) Smoot, Michelle Bay and David (Missie) Carlile, all of Brown County; siblings, Johnny (Sarah) Camden of Indianapolis, Jerry (Sara) Camden of Paragon and Ronnie (Barb) Camden of Whiteland; 10 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by brothers, Freddie, Jim, Jackie, Larry and George Camden; and sisters, Jeanie Roller, Donna Moss and Annie Moss.

The Rev. Jeff Johnson will conduct a funeral service at 11 a.m. Saturday at Meredith-Clark Funeral Home Cremation & Personalization Center, 179 E. Mulberry Street in Morgantown. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Burial will be at Hamblen-Taggart Cemetery in Gatesville.

Memorial contributions may be sent in honor of Sue’s dog, “Charlie,” to help defray veterinarian bills from recent health issues. Contributions can be made in care of Meredith-Clark Funeral Home, PO Box 308, Morgantown, IN 46160.
