TRAFALGAR
Shirley A. (Johnson) Kennedy, 81, of Trafalgar, IN, passed away Friday, December 22, 2017 at Otterbein Franklin SeniorLife Community in Franklin, IN.
She was born June 8, 1936 in North Vernon, Indiana to Frank and Belle (Detraz) Johnson. She married Hollis L. Kennedy on June 13, 1954 at the New Palestine United Methodist Church; he survives.
She had been a purchasing agent for Hurco in Indianapolis, Indiana. She had also been a professional beauty operator and auctioneer. She enjoyed fishing and was an excellent seamstress.
Survivors include her husband, Hollis L. Kennedy of Trafalgar, IN; daughter, Lorri L. Burris (Jim) of Trafalgar, IN; granddaughter, Natalie Burris of Morgantown, IN; and a great-grandson, Saxon Long of Morgantown, IN.
She was preceded in death by her daughter, Julia Marie Westcott; grandchildren, Brandi Neal, Holli Neal, Vonni Westcott, and Joshua Westcott, all on December 21, 1988; her parents, Frank and Belle (Detraz) Johnson; and a brother, Jackie Johnson.
The Reverend Tom Knight will conduct a service on Wednesday, December 27, 2017 at 7 PM at Swartz Family Community Mortuary and Memorial Center, 300 South U.S. 31 (Morton Street), in Franklin where friends may call from 4 PM till service time at the mortuary.
