PHILADELPHIA — Philadelphia police are searching for the suspect who they say stole from a church and vandalized the building over the weekend.

WPVI-TV reports members of the Historic Jones Tabernacle African Methodist Episcopal Church discovered the church had been broken into Sunday. Police say the suspect took antique chairs, candelabras and stained glass windows. Authorities say the suspect also caused about $10,000 worth of damage to the church.

Investigators believe the thief broke into the church through the side door.

An investigation continues.
