MORGANTOWN
Dorothy F. (Dugan) Findley, age 69, passed away all too soon on Saturday afternoon, December 23, 2017 at Community Hospital East in Indianapolis. She was a resident of Morgantown.
Dorothy was born March 6, 1948, in Franklin to her parents, the late Harold and Marianna (Moore) Dugan. She graduated in 1966 from Nineveh High School and went on to marry Raymond E. Findley on January 25, 1969 in Celina, TN. He lovingly survives after 48 devoted years of marriage.
She is also survived by her sons, David (Megan Brake) Findley of Morgantown and Darrell (Nicole Deel) Findley of Martinsville; grandchildren, Hayley, Makayla, Mackenzie, Jaidan, Braison, D.J., Allen and Levi.
Dorothy was preceded in death by siblings, Ellen Anderson, Michael and Harold Jr. Dugan.
She was a loving wife, mother and homemaker who worked as a Nurse’s Aide at several local nursing homes. During the 1960’s and 70’s she worked at the Garment Factory in Franklin.
She was a member of the Morgantown Baptist Church and a former member of the Union Christian Church in Franklin. Dorothy enjoyed tending to her flower and vegetable gardens, reading and watching movies. She loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.
The Rev. Ben Swopes will conduct a funeral service at 1 p.m. on Friday at Meredith-Clark Funeral Home Cremation & Personalization Center, 179 E. Mulberry Street, in Morgantown. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. on Thursday at the funeral home. Burial will be at East Hill Cemetery in Morgantown.
