Man found guilty, sentenced to prison

A man was found guilty of child molesting in a jury trial and sentenced to seven years in prison.

Tyler Buskirk, 20, who formerly lived in Franklin, was found guilty of the felony charge last month. This month, Johnson County Circuit Court Judge Mark Loyd sentenced him to seven years in prison and two years on probation.

Buskirk was arrested in April after a girl, who was younger than 14 years old, told a relative that Buskirk had molested her. The relative contacted police.

The girl told police that Buskirk had made her perform sex acts on him and touch him inappropriately on multiple occasions, the report said.

In an interview with police, Buskirk denied touching the girl in any inappropriate way, the report said.

Buskirk, who now lives in Martinsville, is not set to be released from prison until at least 2022, according to the Indiana Department of Correction.
