Men’s basketball team falls

Despite shooting better than 54 percent from the floor, the Franklin College men suffered an 83-70 setback at Thomas More on Tuesday night.

Jordan Anderson scored 16 points to lead four players in double figures for the Grizzlies (2-8). Kale Morris added 14 points.

Women’s squad struggles in loss

A cold shooting night doomed the Franklin College women to a 64-47 nonconference defeat against Wittenburg on Tuesday night.

Freshman Bayleigh Walker scored 16 points to lead the Grizzlies (2-5), who shot just 28.6 percent from the field.

Mid-State celebrates 75 years

The Mid-State Conference will be hosting an evening of appreciation to commemorate its first 75 years of existence. All current and former athletics directors, school administrators and coaches are invited to attend.

The celebration will be conducted March 13 at Valle Vista Golf Club and Conference Center in Greenwood, with dinner to be served at 6:30 p.m. The cost is $20 per person, and those interested in attending can RSVP through their school’s current athletics director.
