HARDEEVILLE, S.C. — Two teenagers wanted in a violent carjacking led police on a chase that started in South Carolina and ended in a crash in Georgia.
The Island Packet reports Hardeeville Police Chief Sam Woodward said a 17-year-old boy and a juvenile girl have been charged with carjacking, armed robbery and attempted murder. According to the Chatham County Jail’s online records, they were arrested in Savannah, Georgia, on Sunday night.
Woodward said a woman picked up the teens in Bluffton and drove them to Hardeeville, where they hit her with a pistol butt and took her car. Hardeeville police located the car hours later, and chased it to the Georgia line. The stolen car hit a tree.
Savannah police charged the 17-year-old with obstruction and weapons offenses.
