PORTLAND, Ore. — Police say a pedestrian has been struck and killed by a vehicle in northeast Portland.

Sgt. Pete Simpson says North Precinct officers responded at 7:18 a.m. Wednesday, and found members of the public performing CPR on the woman who died at the scene.

The driver stopped and answered questions from police.

Police closed a portion of Northeast Sandy Boulevard during the investigation.
