Thefts reported from 6 vehicles in Franklin

More than 10 vehicles were rummaged through and change was stolen in a Franklin neighborhood during the weekend.

Six residents in the Northpointe neighborhood, off U.S. 31 near Earlywood Drive on the city’s north side, reported that someone had gotten into their cars late Saturday or early Sunday, according to police reports.

In total, the thief or thieves rummaged through 11 vehicles parked at homes along Compass, Eastpointe, Dowden, Northpointe and Sextant drives, according to Franklin Police Department reports.

Residents reported that either nothing was missing, or that change had been stolen from their vehicle, the reports said.

In most cases, residents had left their vehicles unlocked, the reports said. Officers reminded residents to lock their vehicles.
