Local pedestrian bridge set to close

A pedestrian bridge in Franklin is set to temporarily close as early as this week.

Work will begin as soon as Wednesday on the pedestrian bridge that crosses Canary Creek, just north of Northwood Plaza, city engineer Mark Richards said.

The bridge has deteriorated decking, rails and support posts that need to be replaced, he said.

Work is expected to take about five days, and the bridge will need to be closed during that time, Richards said.
