YUMA, Ariz. — Authorities have released the name of a man who was fatally shot at a Yuma bar.

Yuma police say 37-year-old Joseph Benjamin Roosevelt was taken to a hospital after the shooting early Sunday and was pronounced dead.

They say 38-year-old Carlos Moreno Leal Jr. has been booked into jail on suspicion of first-degree murder.

Police say the two men knew each other, but a motive for the shooting remains unclear.

Officers responded to reports of an aggravated assault at a Yuma bar shortly before 1 a.m. Sunday.

They arrived to find Roosevelt with a gunshot wound.

Police say Leal was identified as a suspect in the shooting and he was located and arrested.

It isn’t immediately known if he has a lawyer for his case.
