Mr. and Mrs. Nolan Mitchell, Franklin, will celebrate their 70th wedding anniversary with an open house from 2 to 4 p.m. Dec. 26 at Otterbein Senior Life Center at the Franklin United Methodist Community Clubhouse. The couple requests no gifts.
Mr. Mitchell and his wife, the former Wilma Bowers, were married Dec. 28, 1947, at Trafalgar Christian Church.
He was employed by Stewart-Warner in Indianapolis before the couple owned and operated an appliance business in Muncie.
She was the librarian at Whiteland Elementary School.
They have three children, Sara Diss of Las Vegas, Craig Mitchell of Indianapolis and Kent Mitchell of Cincinnati, and seven grandchildren.
