Museum gets into holiday spirit with musical performance

The Johnson County Museum of History is getting festive for Christmas.

The museum’s holiday open house will be at 1 p.m. Dec. 16. “The Voices of Franklin” will perform on the first floor and cookies and punch also will be served. The event is free and open to the public.

“The Voices of Franklin” have 60 members from Johnson County, Morgantown, Columbus and Indianapolis.

People can also vote in the “Dec-a-Tree” contest. Fifteen nonprofit organizations from the area decorated Christmas trees that are in the museum’s auditorium. Visitors can then vote on their favorite. The organization that decorated the top two voted for trees will receive a cash prize.
