Area barn, vehicle burn in fire

High winds fueled a fire that burned down a Bargersville barn and recreational vehicle Monday night.

Firefighters were sent to the fireĀ  next to a home in the 300 block of North County Road 600W about 8 p.m. after receiving multiple calls about the fire, Bargersville Fire Chief Jason Ramey said.

Bargersville and six other fire departments got the fire under control by 8:30 p.m. and were at the scene until 10:10 p.m., he said.

No one was injured, Ramey said.

Fire engines shuttled water to the scene and also pulled water from a nearby pond to fight the fire, which was fueled by high winds, Ramey said.

The cause of the fire hasn’t been determined yet and is still under investigation, he said.

The Green, Franklin, Amity, Trafalgar, Nineveh, Whiteland and Needham fire departments assisted.
