A Greenwood man accidentally shot himself while trying to set a trigger lock, police said.
Just before 5:30 p.m. Friday, police were called to a home on Davis Drive in Greenwood, where a man had accidentally shot himself in the leg.
James Morris, 62, told police he was cleaning his gun and was trying to put on a trigger lock, but had not inspected the weapon before he started, according to the Greenwood Police Department report.
The gun went off, shooting him in the thigh, the report said.
Morris was taken to an area hospital for treatment, police said. His condition was not available on Monday.
