Scholarship available for students studying abroad

Rotary District 6580 is offering a scholarship for students to study overseas.

Applications for a $40,000 Rotary Global Scholarship are being accepted by the 34 Southern Indiana District 6580 Rotary clubs through Dec. 31.

The scholarship will help support an exceptional scholar who enrolls in a master’s or doctoral degree program for one to four years of study at an overseas university.

Rotary Global Scholars must pursue a course of study in one of Rotary’s six areas of humanitarian focus: Peace and conflict prevention/resolution, disease prevention and treatment, water and sanitation, maternal and child health, basic education and literacy or economic and community development.

Candidates must live in southern Indiana, present a career plan that aligns with the Rotary’s six areas of focus, provide a letter of acceptance from an overseas university and apply through and be endorsed by a Rotary Club in the southern district.

A club endorsement form is at rotary6580.org and by clicking on “global grant scholarship,” and then “club endorsement form.’
