GREENWOOD
Lois Irene Young (Tibby), age 92, of Greenwood, IN, passed away on Thursday, November 30, 2017, at her home surrounded by her loving family.
Lois was born in Casey County, KY on August 11, 1925 to the late James McKinley Tibby and Ella Mae (Owens) Tibby. Lois worked for over 23 years at Isom Central Elementary School as a custodian. She was a member of an Assembly of God Church and a member of the Retired Indiana Public Employee Association. She enjoyed taking care of her family, her home and her garden. She had a loving and kind heart and will be greatly missed by her family and friends.
Lois is survived by her six children, Bernice Dempler (the late William) of Madison, IN, Eunice Sparks (the late Gene) of Seymour, IN, Irene Goode (Larry) of Greenwood, Louise Derbyshire (Bruce) of Greenwood, Harold Young (Vicki) of Franklin, Tammy Young (Paula Sergi) of Greenwood; thirteen grandchildren, Christine Young, Sheri Derringer, Tom Dempler, Joe Dempler, Don Sparks, Lois Penrose, James Sparks, Randy Bell, Angie Sims, Lauren E. Goode, Josh Derbyshire and Joe Young; and 23 great-grandchildren.
Lois was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Elmo Young, one son, Carlen Young (Dell) and one daughter, Linda Sue Bell (Marty) one granddaughter, Elizabeth Sparks, two sisters and one brother.
Funeral services for Lois Young will be held on Saturday, December 9, at 12:00 noon at Wilson St. Pierre Funeral Service and Crematory, Greenwood Chapel. A visitation will be held from 10:00 am until the time of service. Burial will immediately follow at Forest Lawn Cemetery in Greenwood.
