Letter: Anthem time to show respect, not when to show grievances

<strong>To the editor:</strong>

Thank you Woody Burton for your letter to the editor concerning lack of respect for our flag. ("Enough with disrespecting our flag, veterans," Nov. 20).

Those who kneel when the national anthem is sung at the NFL games or anywhere else could not have had the opportunity to be free and make their millions of dollars if so many had not fought and so many have died to make it that way. I would ask them what have each of you done for the country that has given you that opportunity.

Sometimes we all may have grievances and want to express them, but it shouldn’t be by showing disrespect for the very hand that feeds us and allows us to get ahead with our talents. God bless America.
