Richard ‘Dick’ Paul Murray

FRANKLIN

Richard Paul "Dick" Murray, 79, passed away on Friday, December 1, 2017 at St. Francis Hospice House in Indianapolis, IN. He was a resident of Franklin, IN.

He was born on November 26, 1938 in Franklin, IN to Harold Lee and Dorthy Blanch (Traub) Murray. He married Linda Goodin Brown on July 21, 1990. She survives. Other survivors include his children Gaila Hendrian (Allen) of Vally Park, MO; Michael Murray (Andrea) of Clayton, IN; step children Courtney Brown Fisch (Samuel) of West Palm Beach, FL, Whitney Brown Carroll (Ryan) of Indianapolis, IN; grandchildren Gregory Hendrian (Brianna), Kevin Hendrian, Chelsea Murray, Marley Fisch, Lennon Fisch, Dylan Fisch, Madison Carroll, Mason Carroll, Knox Carroll; brothers Daniel Murray (Rita) of Franklin, IN; and John Murray of Newman, GA. He was preceded in passing by his parents.

Dick was a graduate of Franklin Community High School class of 1956. He served in the U. S. Army from 1957-59 and 1961-1963.

He was employed at Franklin Engineering form 1956-1965; Cosco Inc. from 1965-1979 and again from 1982-2001. He was employed by Cummins Engine from 1970-1982.

Dick was a life member of the BPOE and volunteer at the Atterbury Museum. He was an avid reader with Stephen King as his favorite author. In his retirement Dick spent many warm days playing golf with his friends. He also enjoyed watching old western movies.

Rev. Bill Horner will conduct a service on Wednesday, December 6, 2017 at 10:00am at Flinn & Maguire F.H. in Franklin. Friends may call on Tuesday, December 5, 2017 from 4-8pm also at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Forest Lawn Memory Gardens in Greenwood, IN.
