Elementary school helping homeless with care kits

An elementary school in Franklin is putting together bags to help homeless people in the community.

Creekside Elementary School students are collecting socks for men and women, deodorant, soap, shampoo, combs, toothbrushes and non-perishable snack items.

Students will assemble the bags Dec. 12, and they will be given to KIC-IT, Franklin Community Schools and area churches.

Donations of the needed items can be dropped off at the school, 700 State Road 44 during the hours of 8 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Donations will also be accepted at the school district administration building, 974 Grizzly Cub Drive from 7:30 a.m. to 4 p.m.
