GLOUCESTER TOWNSHIP, N.J. — Authorities say one person has died and two others were sent to hospitals after a fire blazed through a New Jersey apartment complex.

Gloucester Township Police said officials arrived at the Blackwood Falls Apartment Complex shortly before 3 a.m. and encountered heavy smoke.

They say one person was dead, and an adult and a juvenile were taken to nearby hospitals for treatment. Their names were not released.

Police say the fire displaced 18 residents from eight apartments, but that most people should be able to return home Sunday.
