BAKERSFIELD, Calif. — San Joaquin Valley authorities believe a vehicle spotted in the Kern River may be related to a missing person.

The Kern County Sheriff’s Office says it plans to recover the vehicle Saturday in an operation requiring heavy equipment and closures of Highway 178 in the Kern River Canyon.

Late Thursday, deputies received a report that personal property possibly related to the missing person, Lisa Harvey, was found in the canyon. Deputies then found a submerged vehicle nearby.
