GULFPORT, Miss. — A 44-year-old man who police say was hit by a pickup truck in Mississippi has died.

The Sun Herald reports that Gulfport police said in a news release that the man walking on a road near Seaway was struck about 6:12 p.m. Thursday. The driver, who was uninjured, remained on scene and cooperated with police.

The victim’s name has not been released, pending notification of next of kin. The accident is being investigated.
