More than 15 pounds of marijuana discovered in Franklin home

An ongoing drug investigation in Franklin uncovered more than 15 pounds of marijuana, guns and cash in a home.

Jeffrey H. Taylor, 43, Franklin, was arrested on a charge of dealing marijuana, a level 5 felony, after police searched his home at 2487 Graham Road on Wednesday, Franklin police said.

The 15 pounds of marijuana is worth more than $30,000 and is substantial for this area, police said. Detectives also found six guns and more than $1,000 in cash.

Franklin police detectives had been conducting an investigation, which led to a search warrant for the home, which is on the northeast side of the city. The Johnson County Sheriff’s Office helped search the property.

The amount of marijuana found is the highest in at least three arrests in the last three months.

Earlier this month, police in Greenwood found 10 pounds of marijuana in a Greenwood apartment, along with marijuana “butter” used for cooking and consuming marijuana.

And in September, Franklin police seized about a quarter-pound of marijuana during a traffic stop, where the driver told police he had been paid to transport the marijuana and prescription pills from Franklin to Southport.

Taylor was taken to the Johnson County jail and held on $3,300 bond.
