Jeffery Clayton Hord

INDIANAPOLIS

Jeffery Clayton Hord, age 56, of Indianapolis, passed away on Sunday, November 26, 2017 at IU Health University Hospital.

Jeffery was born on January 8, 1961 in Jeffersonville, IN to the late George R. Hord and Carol (Hitner) Hord. Jeff graduated from Southport High School in 1979. He worked for several years in auto sales, finance, and insurance. Most recently, he was employed by Kroger on Hwy. 31 and Worthsville Road as an Assistant Manager. Jeff loved animals and adopted several dogs from The Johnson County Animal Shelter throughout the years. Jeff also served on the Board for the Red Cross of Johnson County.

Survivors include, his wife, Lorena G. (Pedigo) Hord of Indianapolis; one son, Jeremiah J. Hord (Elizabeth) of Fairland, IN; three daughters, Amanda M. Harriman (Jason) of New Whiteland, IN, Ashley Hill (Brian) of Greenwood and Jessica C. Hord of Muncie; a step-son, Evan Wilds (Dakota) of El Paso, TX; former daughter-in-law, Teresa Drouillard (James) of Franklin, IN; one sister, Debbie Johnson of Indianapolis; fourteen grandchildren; and his beloved dog, Riley.

Jeff was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Harold Lee Hord.

A memorial gathering will be held in Jeff’s honor at Wilson St. Pierre Funeral Service and Crematory, Greenwood Chapel, on Friday, December 1, from 4:00-8:00 pm.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made in Jeffery Hord’s name to The Johnson County Animal Shelter, 2160 Graham Road, Franklin, IN 46131.
