KOKOMO, Ind. — Authorities in central Indiana say an 11-year-old boy has been detained after he fatally shot a man inside a home.

Kokomo police say 28-year-old Randall Rogers died from a single gunshot wound to the head Wednesday afternoon at his home.

Police didn’t immediately release information about the circumstances of the shooting in the city about 40 miles (65 kilometers) north of Indianapolis. The department says the boy was being held at a detention center for a delinquent act that would be voluntary manslaughter if committed by an adult.
