MERIDIAN, Idaho — Authorities in southwestern Idaho are investigating what they say appears to be a murder-suicide.

The Gem County Sheriff’s Office says it was investigating on Wednesday the unattended death of a man whose family asked that they check on his girlfriend.

The Meridian Police Department went to the home where they found 65-year-old Joy Lynne Frizzell deceased in her bed.

According to the Ada County Coroner’s office, Frizzell died from multiple stab wounds to the chest.

Police are investigating the woman’s death as a homicide.
