LITTLE ROCK, Ark. — A North Little Rock man accused of fatally shooting a driver during a road-rage confrontation has been sentenced to three years in prison.
Chris Aaron Schnarr was convicted Wednesday of manslaughter for the May 2013 shooting death of 45-year-old Arista Lee Aldridge Jr. in downtown Little Rock.
Prosecutors told jurors that Schnarr killed Aldridge, who was unarmed, in the middle of the day on a city street because the two had argued.
But Schnarr’s defense attorney, Jeff Rosenzweig, argued that Aldridge nearly caused a collision with Schnarr’s car, then chased Schnarr down to confront him. Rosenzweig says he plans to appeal the conviction.
According to the Arkansas Democrat-Gazette , Schnarr must serve at least six months in prison before he’s eligible for parole.
