CICERO, N.Y. — Authorities say a man has died after being hit by a truck while crossing a central New York road.

The Onondaga County Sheriff’s Office says the accident was reported around 4:20 a.m. Wednesday on Route 11 in the town of Cicero, outside Syracuse. Deputies say the man was crossing the road when he was hit by a southbound truck.

The man was taken Upstate University Hospital in Syracuse, where was pronounced dead soon after. The man’s name hasn’t been released.

The accident remains under investigation.
