BROCKTON, Mass. — A Taunton man has been convicted of murder for killing another man in a drive-by shooting in Brockton more than four years ago.

The Enterprise reports that 28-year-old Carlens Alain Louis was convicted Monday in Brockton Superior Court of killing Vardley St. Felix and injuring another man in April 2013.

Louis faces a mandatory sentence of life in prison with no parole at sentencing on Dec. 20.

Prosecutors say Louis was driving a Jeep Cherokee when he pulled alongside a parked vehicle, rolled down his window and fired three shots from a 9 mm handgun.

Louis and his passenger were located later the same day at a Seekonk motel, with the gun and ammunition hidden in the toilet tank. The passenger is awaiting trial.
