MONTPELIER, Vt. — The Vermont Department of Fish and Wildlife says two shooting ranges are getting ready to close for the season.

The Hammond Cove Shooting range in Hartland and the range at the West Mountain Wildlife Management area in East Haven will close for the winter on Dec. 15.

Fish and Wildlife shooting range specialist Daneil Pieterse says the department would like to thank everyone who has supported the two ranges, which are essential to hunter skill development and the safe use of firearms.

Both ranges will reopen in the spring.
