Local hospital gets top marks for preventing errors

Johnson Memorial Health has received the top grade from a medical group for its efforts to prevent medical errors, infections and minimizing patient harm.

Johnson Memorial Health was one of 832 awarded an “A” for its commitment to keeping patients safe and meeting the highest safety standards in the United States from the Leapfrog Group.

Leapfrog Group is a national nonprofit healthcare ratings organization.

Open house set for real estate agent

A Greenwood area real estate agent is having an open house at a new office in a remodeled restaurant and banquet center.

Bruce Richardson Realty will be having an open house from 6 to 9 p.m. Nov. 30 at The Nest, 400 Byrd Way.

The Nest is the former site of Jonathan Byrd’s Cafeteria and Conference Center.

Duke Energy gives grant to school

Duke Energy has given a grant to a Franklin school athletics department.

Franklin Community Middle School was awarded $2,400 from the Duke Energy Foundation.
