FOT WAYNE, Ind. — Fort Wayne police say they’ve arrested a suspect in the fatal robbery of a gas station clerk based on tips from the public after local news media ran a picture of him.

They say 21-year-old Victor Manual Rivera was charged Friday with murder, felony murder and robbery causing serious bodily injury in the fatal shooting of the clerk the night before. The clerk’s name hasn’t been released.

Police spokesman Officer Michael Joyner said Rivera was largely identified because the public provided credible information when local media ran a picture of him.

The clerk was found shot to death about 8:15 p.m. Thursday by a co-worker and customers. Rivera was arrested Friday morning when investigators saw him walking in a mobile home park. It wasn’t clear whether he has an attorney.
