Organization seeks plans for Franklin home

A Franklin organization is once again seeking proposals for a downtown area home.

The Franklin Development Corp. did not accept previous offers to sell the house at 348 Kentucky St., which was part of the organization’s effort to get vacant, abandoned homes rehabilitated.

Now, the group is once again asking for proposals for the property.

The home did not sell at repeated county tax sales and was given to the city organization, with back taxes and fees forgiven, with the goal of redeveloping the property. The group recently received proposals for the Kentucky Street home and four other properties. The organization did not accept the proposals for the Kentucky Street home, saying the proposals did not meet the organization’s guidelines.

Anyone interested in submitting a proposal can download information about the process and the property at franklindevelopmentcorporation.org/newprojects. Proposals are due by Dec. 18.
