NEW BRITAIN, Conn. — One man is dead and another is facing a murder charge after a stabbing in New Britain.

Police say 41-year-old Carlos Gonzalez-Oliver is being held on $1 million bond and is scheduled to be arraigned in Superior Court on Tuesday.

Officers responded to a North Street apartment just before 9 p.m. Monday for a report of a stabbing. There they found the victim suffering from what were described as “serious” wounds.

The victim was pronounced dead at the hospital. The victim’s name was not immediately made public.

The suspect lives in the apartment in which the victim was found, but was located after the stabbing at a motel in Wethersfield, where he was taken into custody without incident. It could not be determined in the suspect has a lawyer.
