Donald P. Devers

FRANKLIN

Donald P. Devers, 77, passed away on Saturday, Nov. 18, 2017 in Indianapolis.

Don was born in Versailles, Kentucky on August 18, 1940, the youngest son of Goebel and Ruth Devers. He was a resident of Franklin.

In his early years, Don served in the United States Marine Corps before spending 39 1/2 years working at Arvin Automotive in Franklin.

He was best known for his trickster personality; he regularly liked to play pranks on people and make his family laugh. He was one of the strongest and most caring people on this earth, and was special to so many.

He enjoyed building birdhouses, fishing, and working with metal. He loved his family and spending time with them.

Don is survived by his four children, John (Glenna) Devers of Whiteland, Chris Devers of Franklin, Debbie (Bob) Bauer of Greenwood, and Mike (Jenna) Devers of Texas, and six grandchildren, Nicole Schaefer, Brandon Devers, Megan Kinney, Taylor Bauer, Hailey Devers and Matthew Devers.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Barbara (Noe) Devers, son, Paul Anthony Devers, four brothers, Leonard, Cecil, Goebel, and Pascal Devers, and two sisters, Joyce Devers and Thelma Graves.

A visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday Nov. 21, 2017 at Jessen Funeral Home, Franklin Chapel, 197 E. Jefferson St.

A private family service will be conducted on Wednesday, Nov. 22, 2017.

Burial will be at Greenlawn Cemetery in Franklin.
