CANTON, Miss. — Tell the clerks you’re buying that Mississippi bourbon for your holiday fruit cake.
They’ll never know if you take a nip for yourself.
The first bourbon whiskey legally distilled in Mississippi is hitting liquor store shelves.
David Rich, who owns Canton-based Rich Grain Distilling Co., tells WLBT-TV that the first output from his distillery is hitting stores in the Jackson area after two years of aging in oak barrels.
The company’s unaged corn whiskey, white rum and spiced rum were already for sale.
Rich has been running the distillery since 2015.
