Scouting tonight’s Class 4A Semistate game

Greenwood (11-2) at East Central (10-3)

Kickoff: 7 p.m.

Radio: KORN Country 100.3 FM

Recent history: The Trojans have won all four meetings since 2002, most recently a 41-26 sectional victory at Greenwood in 2014.

Sagarin ratings: Greenwood 77.34 (35th overall, fourth in Class 4A), East Central 78.25 (31st overall, third in 4A)

Players to watch: Greenwood — QB Seth Gallman, RB Brandon Rosado, RB Nick Willham, WR R.J. Meyers, TE Conner Battinau, DT Nick Young, DE Jake Patton, LB Tim Johns, RB Bryce Taylor, DB Noah Compton; East Central — QB Alex Maxwell, RB Logan Storie, WR Justin Brown, DT Keegan Gindling, LB Landon Foster, LB Logan Moser, LB Tanner Yocum, DB/KR Devon Donawerth

What to look for: The Woodmen have moved the ball almost at will in recent weeks offensively, but they’ll have their work cut out for them against a rugged Trojan defense that has shut out five teams and allows just 11.5 points a game. Storie (1,758 yards rushing) is the main threat for an East Central offense that passes fairly infrequently. Greenwood gutted out a regional win without three defensive starters (Johns, Compton, DT Joey Craig) but should have everyone back in the lineup for this week as it chases what would undoubtedly be the biggest victory in program history.

Notable: East Central won semistate titles in 1993, 1994 and 2015; Greenwood is in search of its first.
