Jill Thomas

INDIANAPOLIS

Jill Thomas, 79, of Indianapolis, IN passed away November 15, 2017. She was a Registered Nurse in Dayton, OH and in Indianapolis in both Pediatrics and Obstetrics.

Jill, after retiring, volunteered as a Nursing Assistant in the Oncology Clinic at St. Francis Hospital which was near and dear to her as she was the longest living survivor in the world of Difuse Histiocytic Lymphoma. Jill was a beloved mother, Grandmother, and Great Grandmother. She felt her life was a gift that she shared deeply with her husband whom she loved. Jill enjoyed watching her grandchildren grow up and finding their way in life.

Aside from her professional career she had numerous interests which included, Needle Point, Quilting, cooking, photography, writer, loved reading, gardening, studying the bible, and traveling the world.

Jill was also talented as a Gold Dancer at Arthur Murray and won several gold medals at international completions. She is survived by her husband of 46 years, Dr. Charles Thomas, her children, Thomas A. (Barbara) Theiss, Leigh Ann (William) Fricke, Wendy L. (Mark) Alexa, stepchildren, Linda Sue Hastings, Karen L. Thomas, grandchildren, Kelly A. Thomas, Lindsey L. Nicholson, Conor Theiss, Kirsten S. Alexa, Cameron M. Alexa, great grandchildren, Cheyenne, Isabella, Landon Dyson, and her sisters, Judy Hodges and Vicki Walker.

She is preceded in death by her sons, W. Scott Theiss, and Ryan C. Thomas. Funeral Services will be held Saturday, November 18, 2017 at 2 PM at Concordia Lutheran Church-305 Howard Road Greenwood, IN with visitation held there from 12p.m. until the service at 2 p.m.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Concordia Lutheran Church or the Wounded Warriors Project. Funeral arrangements are entrusted to Wilson St. Pierre Funeral Service & Crematory -Greenwood Chapel.
