GREENWOOD
Jason Eugene Statom, 87, of Greenwood, IN went home to be with the Lord on November 14, 2017.
Gene was married to Lois Statom for 68 years, and she will miss his love and care. He was the most loving father to Gary, Judy, Pam and Cheryl Statom and the treasured “Pop” to his granddaughter, Rachel Statom and also to his granddaughter, JoAnn Eisert, who preceded him in death.
He was the beloved and mischievous brother to sisters, Marg Campton, Trudy Clark, Chris Coffman, Evelyn Dawson, Neda Murphy, Carolyn Pruitt, Lucy Reed, Peggy Reed and Jewell Whitis and to brother, Jerry Statom.
Gene worked for 40 years at Allison’s and upon retirement loved being outdoors in the yard. He took delight in the family’s many nieces and nephews and in bringing laughter to all those he loved. Daddy was a man of quiet strength who gave much and taught us all how to persevere through life’s journey.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11:30 a.m. on Monday, November 20, 2017 at G. H. Herrmann Greenwood Funeral Home at The Gardens at Olive Branch, 1605 S. State Road 135. Visitation will be from 9:30 a.m. until the service time at the funeral home. He will be laid to rest in Greenwood Cemetery.
