PHILADELPHIA — Authorities say an elderly man found dead in his Philadelphia home died of multiple stab wounds.

Officers responded to the home in the Port Richmond section of northeast Philadelphia just after 9 p.m. Wednesday after a relative found the 80-year-old victim on the kitchen floor.

Homicide Capt. Jack Ryan told WPVI-TV that there was “blood throughout the house.” Police said there were no signs of forced entry and nothing appeared to have been taken.

Investigators were seeking surveillance video from the area.
