RIVERSIDE, Iowa — A southeastern Iowa father charged in the death of his 17-month-old daughter has pleaded not guilty to child endangerment resulting in death.

Cedar Rapids television station KCRG reports that 36-year-old Anthony McCoy, of Riverside, will be in court next week for a hearing on his motion for a bond reduction.

McCoy and 29-year-old Ambrashia Chrzan, also of Riverside, each face the same charge in Washington County related to the Nov. 9. 2016, death of 17-month-old Avery McCoy. Chrzan is the girl’s mother.

The child was found unresponsive in her crib and weighed just 11 pounds at the time of her death. An autopsy found that malnutrition and neglect significantly contributed to the girl’s death.
